Digital Learning Design

What is defined as Digital Learning Design??

Digital Learning Design could be something as simple as changing from textbooks to computers or a pencil to a mouse. It could also include changing daily routines from using a remote to an iphone or a shopping list to a mobile phone, a book to an ebook or online reader. Where do you draw the line?
Digital Learning Design to me is anything digital or technological that has changed the way in which we learn and operate. Students today are learning to use various different learning designs and are steering away from the classic pen and paper senario.

TPACK

What is TPACK???
- Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge-
"Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) attempts to identify the nature of knowledge required by teachers for technology integration in their teaching, while addressing the complex, multifaceted and situated nature of teacher knowledge. At the heart of the TPACK framework, is the complex interplay of three primary forms of knowledge: Content (CK), Pedagogy (PK), and Technology (TK).
(Koehler, M. 2011)"

As stated above TPACK involves the: pedagogy, the content and technology knowledge. To me these three things are the main substances for successful teaching practices and outcomes. Incorporating this model into your planning and teaching strategies will engage many different levels of student learning. Including kineasthetic, linguistic, visual, auditory etc. This strategy can include a variety of teaching techniques but allows you to include the finer things in life, like technology- computers, ipods, CD players, cameras, microscopes, projectors, television, etc!!

De Bono's Six Thinking Hats!

De Bono's Six Thinking Hats are a great method to use in the classroom. The thinking hats allow students some guidance towards their thinking and they help them to understanding what their thinking is meaning!
